I love getting my meat, produce and bakery items at IGA! There is always great deals and the staff is quite friendly. They have a free fruit and cookie option for my children which they love as a reward after grocery shopping. I like that they bag and bring out your groceries.
I stopped in to get some salami and they didn't have genoa which I was quite surprised by. Secondly the meat and cheese dish I grabbed preprepared was disappointing. I have to cut the salami pieces myself as they were cut VERY thick. Doesn't look like someone cared to keep the slices even remotely the same. All the packs were like this. Employees were friendly though. Just disappointed I'm the products offered.
General manager was super friendly and walking around asking people if they need help and chatting. Super great to see.
Nice grocery store, with lots of the Compliments brand favorites - at great savings. And while there are other competitively priced items in the dairy, snacks, canned goods and bakery, the prices in the produce and meat departments are very high. The quality in the fruit and vegetables is good, and the meat is fresh and very nicely cut, but the cost per pound is almost unsuitable. For example, 5 fresh boneless skinless (unseasoned) chicken breasts cost $34. With 2 people cooking and eating half of the package - that's $17 for just the meat, in just one meal! Too much.
